Rotary Youth Exchange

Past Outbound Rotary Exchange Student, Michaella Haidenger (L), and current Outbound Rotary Exchange Student, Emma Thomson (R), stopped by our Annual Bocce Ball and Potluck/Corn Roast Gathering earlier this month

 

It has been an exciting week for two of our Summerland teens - Emma Thomson and Sylvia Mott - who left this week for their Rotary Youth Exchange. Emma Thomson, who is sponsored by The Rotary Club of Summerland, flew to Budapest this morning for the start of her exchange in Hungary. Sylvia Mott (granddaughter of club President, Preston Mott) flew to Germany earlier this week to begin her exchange in the town of Heiligenhaus. Both young women will be away in their new countries for nearly one year. The Rotary Club of Osoyoos has "adopted" Sylvia as one of their own and are sponsoring her as an outbound exchange student in Germany.
