Meet our very own inbound Rotary Youth Exchange student, Josie Mehrnusch, from Germany!
• Where in Germany are you from? Külz, Hunsrück, Rheinland-Pfalz
• When did you arrive in Canada? 28.8.2016
• Who are you staying with? Family Mott (John, April, Helena)
• What do your parents do? Mom: secretary, rehabilitation coach Dad: IT professional
• How old are you? 16
• What is your date of birth? 15.04.2000
• What grade are you in? 11
• What courses are you taking? First Semester: Communications, Drama, Foods and Nutrition, work experience Second Semester: English, maths, biology, I did not decided the last one yet
• Outside of school, what do you like doing? I love to read, meet my friends, cook/bake, do some sports. I am a scout in Germany since I am 6 years old
• Are you participating in any school sports/activities? Yes, play (Cinderella) and field Hockey I am going to participate in cheerleading after field hockey season, if there is the possibility and in spring I would like to join either Rugby or soccer
• What types of things have you been doing since arriving in Summerland? Stand up paddle boarding, kayaking, hiking, meeting and making new friends, cooking and eating a lot of new things I tried different new sports like field hockey and bellydancing I watched an ice hockey game I went to the Kangaroo farm I saw waterfalls in the middle of a forrest in Naramata.
