It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a beloved Summerland Rotarian, Ann Enabelle Gorek, who passed away on March 11, 2017. Members of the Summerland Rotary Club said goodbye to Enabelle at a Memorial Service that took place for her on Saturday, April 1, 2017, at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Penticton. Many current and past Rotarians shared fond memories of Enabelle:

"I have very fond memories of Enabelle and the warmth she brought to every meeting."

"Enabelle was an impressive woman. She had relentless energy and interest and until the end her mind was clear. I, for one, really enjoyed her company. We should all feel blessed that she was part of Rotary and gave so much of herself."

"Enabelle was very sharp to the end. Less than a week prior to her move to Hospice House she was most concerned about moving 22 cartons of books she was donating to the Penticton-Okanagan Rotary Club book sale."

"Enabelle was an example to all. When most people her age were just sitting, waiting for the end, Enabelle was living life to the fullest and giving back to her community."

"I enjoyed her company at Rotary and at the many Rotary things that we were involved in. She was a dedicated Rotarian and always ready to pitch in. She was fortunate to have good health and a clear mind until so very recently. We will miss her."

"We were so fortunate to have Enabelle in Rotary and in our town. She was so busy with her travels, her work on so many costumes for productions around the Valley, her swimming and her work with other service groups. I don't think she had much time to sit. In face, we last saw her at the Summerland Secondary School production of Cinderalla last month, so this has come as a shock. We will miss her".

~ Rest well, Enabelle. You will be missed.
